Strategic Plan

California has the second highest rate of TB in the country, second only to New York. Santa Clara County has the fifth highest rate of TB within the state. In a process of community needs assessment, Tuberculosis Prevention Partnership (TPP) members identified the following five needs as critical to preventing TB in Santa Clara County (SCC):

  1. Access to culturally competent TB related services.
  2. Culturally competent, knowledgeable providers of TB services.
  3. Accurate, culturally appropriate TB information for at risk groups and individuals regarding TB symptoms, cure and treatment, and clarification of misconceptions that perpetuate stigmas associated with TB.
  4. Broad based community awareness to gain support for prevention efforts.
  5. Appropriate levels of secure funding to maintain TB prevention and treatment.

TPP members formed work groups organized around each of the above critical needs. Goals and objectives were then developed to meet those needs. The Full Strategic Plan document details the results of those work groups.
